Asus P565
The increase of the speed of processors for mobile devices like PDA phone is not as fast as the processor speed to your PC or notebook. And when talking about performance, the processor became one of the components that affect the performance of a PDA. Well, if you've been inpatient with slow performing of your PDA, the latest PDA phone from Asus called the P565 worthy ogled. By using speed Marvell 800MHz processor, the P565 is a PDA phone the best processor right now. For comparison, other PDAs are usually stuck in the number 500-600MHz.

Combined with the memory available, it was powered P565 when running heavy applications. But we think would be more interesting if Asus put a greater memory than the standard specification in the form of Flash ROM 256MB and 128MB SDRAM. The operating system is still using Windows Mobile 6.1. Given the newer version already out, it would be better if Asus provides afdol upgrade to version 6.5.

GPS Facilities include at Asus P565. The fit is good enough, apparently was helped by SiRFStar III chipset which is known for reliable business and GPS Catcher to download satellite information that can be traced more quickly. Also added a number of applications by Asus, the Asus looks Zip, Backup, Jetcet PDF 5, Meeting Time Planner, Newstation, Remote Calendar, Remote Desktop, WorldCard Mobile, and as a companion work. While you are looking for entertainment, there are EziMusic, EziPhoto, Streaming Player, and YouTube & Flicker. In addition to GPS, Asus P565 provide 3G and WiFi to connect to the internet. When we try, setting P565 operators recognized immediately.

P565 own body size is almost equal to P552W body; P565 only 2mm thicker than the P552W. However, this thin difference was sizable impact on overall performance, because the posture of P565 was much bigger.

Like the P552w, P565 is wearing Gester Glide UI with it. Gester is a virtual on-screen navigation to control the direction and operation of the application of the screen with just one simple motion. Gester somewhat important; remember all the interfaces that Asus put on the device touch screen control requires adequate. Asus also include Multi-Home and Anytime Launcher. As far as our observation, there was no difference between that used in the P552W with P565. Just to remind, Multi-Home is the home screen can be selected according to mood; accessed from the icon-like triangle in the top right corner of the screen. Meanwhile, Anytime Launcher activated with similar picture punched Windows; located between Call and navigation buttons.

Very rare processor made for consideration when buying a PDA phone. But if a lot working with applications "heavy", there's no harm in getting used to weigh the hardware devices specification. For now, the Asus P565 is virtually the best option we can get. Not only was the performance, appearance okay.

Asus P552W
It seems there is a new trend among sailing Touch PDA phone, which uses a special interface as the Home Screen. This interface is basically the application on the Windows Mobile operating system, functions to facilitate access and navigation menus. This trend started from HTC with its TouchFLO, and then went to a number of vendors such as Samsung TouchWiz, or a Sony Ericsson with XPanel.

Now, even if Asus did not want to miss a trend. Their latest PDA Phone, P552w, also uses a similar interface called Glide UI. This was from a row of icons at the bottom bar on the default view. We live "swipe" the bar to select the icon, and then knocked on the icon to open the tab.

Does not stop there, Asus also includes an interface that he named the Multi-Home and Anytime Launcher. Multi-Home is a home screen can be selected according to mood. By tapping the triangle-like icon top right corner of the screen, will be raised 3 home screen display option. We live shifted to choose, and then tapped to activate it. Meanwhile, Anytime Launcher will display shortcuts to favorite applications. To move between screen, we live to shift the screen left or right.

Another interesting to try is Gester. This is a virtual on-screen navigation to control the direction and operation of the application of the screen with just one simple movement. Based on our observations, Gester plays an important role; considering all the interfaces are introduced Asus will require touch-screen controls are adequate.

Asus P552w design itself reminds us of the HTC Touch 3G phone. The difference, P552w has more buttons on the bottom of the touch screen; a Call button, Anytime Launcher, 4-way navigation plus center, OK, and End call. While his stylus stored in the upper right elbow casing. As usual, the touch screen would-prone was pushed accidentally. Fortunately, Asus has set up a safety in the form of slide switch (which is on the right casing). We live this switch shifts upward, and the screen will be safe from accidental touch.

Performance of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional was established with the support of powerful 624MHz processor. P552W storage capacity can be increased. But to do so would be a bit troublesome, because it just builds up a MicroSD slot under the SIM slot. Asus also included EziPhoto for EziMusic viewer for images and music player as a bonus application. Speaker adjacent to the camera. The sound quality is the same as the average PDA phone. Volume 2-way on the left body.

Our little pity, 3.5G facility is maximized only for the transfer of data; not be used for video calls. Similarly, the GPS facility; can not directly be used because Asus only provides the GPS port.
