Nokia are leaked new flagship product that relies on the Linux platform N900 Internet tablet. Devices that use Linux Maemo will be available starting in October 2009 with an estimated price of 500 Euros. The emergence of new products flagship Linux based Nokia is already a rumor in the last few days. Nokia’s been relying on the Symbian mobile devices is known to have developed a Linux Maemo devices primarily to support Internet-centric devices, specifically designed to access the Internet.

“With the Linux software, the Mozilla browser technology, and now with mobile connectivity, the Nokia N900 provides full mobility experience,” said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President Markets Nokia in the press release. Nokia N900 to work with the software version of the Maemo 5. Processor used is the ARM Cortex-A8 with the support of 256 MB of RAM memory and 768 MB of virtual memory. Its hard disk capacity of 32 GB and can be expanded to 48 GB with microSD. Internet connection can be done through the internal modem or WiFi and HSPA mobile dual band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/3G.

This device also features a QWERTY keyboard and touch screen. The screen supports graphics acceleration 3DOpenGL ES 2.0 and Adobe Flash 9.4 to run the animation. This device also features 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and Assisted GPS.

Industry analysts estimate that Nokia will use Linux platform to create a multimedia device rivals the iPhone in the near future. One source said, Nokia will be showing off the smartphone that works with Maemo operating system, version of Linux for mobile devices in the Nokia World event in Stuttgart, Germany, early September.

“Looks like Maemo, or at least Linux derivatives described some parties will be key in Motorola high-end products next year or two years,” said Neil Mawston from Strategy Analytics.
